This is a solidarity health insurance system in which persons (families) come together and pay contributions for the purpose of protection and receipt of medical care
Individuals with no income are fully supported by the Government. The Government pays 4,000 Frw per person (100% subsidized) annually.
Members of Category II with income below 30,000 Frw per month, pays 4,000 Frw person annually (3,000 Frw paid by member and 1,000 Frw subsidized by Government)
Category III members with income above 30,000 Frw and below 60,000 Frw, fully cover their annual contribution of 5,000 Frw, without subsidy.
High Income members with income above 60,000 Frw and below 120,000 Frw, contribute a premium of 8,000 Frw per annum without subsidy.
Top Income members with income above 120,000 Frw, contribute a premium of 20,000 Frw per annum without subsidy.
Payments are facilitated online via different mediums; commercial banks, Mobile Money or Irembo Agents. A list of contributing members, along with the ID number of the household representative, must be submitted to the nearest RSSB branch

To join CBHI, households must be registered in the national social registry, confirm their contribution category, provide identification details, register eligible family members, and pay the applicable annual contribution.
Register as a household through your local administrative unit (Village/Cell) or ensure your household is already recorded in the national registry.
Your contribution level will be determined based on your Ubudehe category (income classification) assigned by local authorities.

Provide a list of all household members to be covered under CBHI. Registration is done as a family unit, not individually.

Enter your facility’s basic details, including name, location, ownership, contact information.
List all medical services offered by your facility, including specialization areas, departments, and levels of care to support proper classification.
Submit a valid operating license issued by the relevant regulatory authority to confirm that your facility is authorized to operate.
Upload all required supporting documents, such as accreditation certificates, regulatory approvals, and any additional compliance records for the facility and staff.
Provide identification details of the authorized representative, including a valid National ID and personal information.
Submit your facility’s bank account details to enable secure and timely reimbursement for services rendered under the scheme.
