An employer can only request a reimbursement for an employee if and only if;
The employer submits a maternity leave application through the Ishema platform, providing employee details and expected leave period.
Provide a Medical certificate confirming employee pregnancy and expected delivery date
Provide a document confirming the employee's leave issued by the organisation.
Ensure that the employee is covered by the scheme during the time of the leave period amongst other labor law requirement

The Scheme has been a game-changer, it allows us to support our employees fully during their maternity leave by ensuring they receive their full salary, which we are then reimbursed for by RSSB.

- You must be on maternity leave.
- The employer must continue paying contributions during the maternity leave
- You need to present all required supporting documents, which include: Payslip, Child’s birth certificate, Consent form signed by both employer and employee, Medical certificate (if needed) and other supporting documents depending on the delivery category
The amount you should expect is equal to salary of the month preceding the month of the end of maternity leave on which the contribution was subscribed divided by 30 days, multiplied by the day of leave reimbursable by social security administration
You will need to complete an electronic form and provide the following supporting documents: Pay slip, Child's birth certificate Leave form signed by both employer and employee, medical certificate (if needed) and any other supporting documents depending on the delivery category.
Through the Ishema platform, you will be able to track the entire process of your request and see its current stage. Additionally, you will receive email and SMS notifications for any required actions.
Reimbursement requests will be processed and paid within 30 days from the date they are received as per the law.
