The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) was established in 2010 following the merger of the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (SSFR) and the Rwanda Health Insurance Fund (RAMA). Building on more than six decades of social protection history, RSSB has evolved from a traditional pension fund into a comprehensive social security institution.
Today, RSSB manages multiple schemes, including pension, medical insurance, maternity leave benefits, occupational hazards insurance, community-based health insurance (CBHI), and long-term savings initiatives such as EjoHeza. Through these programs, RSSB serves millions of Rwandans and continues to expand access to inclusive protection nationwide.
To manage and promote comprehensive social security that safeguards the well-being of members while contributing to Rwanda’s sustainable socio-economic development.
RSSB envisions a comprehensive social security system that addresses the evolving social protection needs of all Rwandans.
We uphold the highest standards of honesty and ethical conduct in all our operations, with a committment to transparency and fairness.
We believe in the power of teamwork and partnerships, fostering a supportive and cohesive environment that fosters innovation.
